The 26-year-old right-winger played in all three games for Switzerland during their ill-fated Euro 2004 campaign and was a regular during the World Cup qualifiers, only to make just one start - against Togo - in Germany two years ago. He came through the youth team ranks at FC Baden before moving to FC Zurich at the age of 17. He was transferred to Lille at the beginning of the 2005-06 season after scoring seven goals in 30 games as FC Zurich finished fifth in the Swiss League and won the Cup. After two seasons with the French side he was transferred to Metz last summer and has been a regular in the first team this term.
