A versatile performer, Petter Hansson usually operates in defence, but can also fill a defensive midfield role when needed. The 31-year-old currently plays his club football in France with Rennes, having made his reputation during a five-year stint with Heerenveen in the Netherlands. Was part of the squad for both Euro 2004 and the World Cup finals two years ago, but saw little action at either tournament and will hope to feature more regularly this time around. Hansson was a virtual ever-present during qualifying and appears to have become a key member of Lars Lagerback's side.
